This exciting program represents an outstanding pathway to permanent residency in Canada. Individuals are nominated by the Provincial Governments based on their intention to live, work and their economic ability to establish in one of the Atlantic Provinces.
The Atlantic Provincial Nominee Program is an economic immigration program for experienced entrepreneurs who are ready to establish, operate and actively manage a business while living and settling in Canada permanently.
Applications require two stages of approval before Permanent Residency status may be obtained.
PROVINCIAL NOMINATION
First, you must decide which province you wish to live in. If you meet all of the eligibility criteria and selection factors, you can apply to the province by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI).
Each province targets different areas of business and may have different requirements, based on that province’s needs. In general, applicants may fall into one of the following categories:
If at this stage you are approved, you will receive a provincial nomination.
FEDERAL APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY VISA
After a province nominates you, you must apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for a permanent residency visa. Even if you are nominated by a province, that does not guarantee your approval. You, your spouse and dependents must meet the Canadian Immigration legal requirements for medical, security and criminal admissibility. IRCC has the final authority to issue a Permanent Residency Visa based on Canadian Immigration law.
