World’s Most Luxurious Ski Resorts

When one thinks of luxury ski resorts, images of caviar, champagne, and private chalets dance through the air. Of course, there are more practical considerations such as the ability to land a private jet, how discreet the staff will be, and the level of security. The following ski resorts cover all the bases, and then go above and beyond what one might expect.

Yellowstone Club, Montana
This is one of few members-only ski resorts in the world. Located twenty miles north of Yellowstone National Park, this resort doesn’t necessarily cater to celebrities—rather, it hosts producers and bankers who own studios.
Resort security is handled by former US Secret Service Agents, the same team who used to guard the president of The United States. The hills are dotted with ‘Sugar Shacks’ which offer homemade desserts and gourmet coffee.

Klosters, Switzerland
This resort is everything one would imagine, one can bask in the warm glow of the village-like atmosphere of the Prättigau. There are walking paths, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and a variety of options for those who don’t wish to ski.
The Klosters were the prime ski destination for Prince Charles, who was something of a regular. In the area, a local nightclub called The Casa Antica is accustomed to serving famous royals. Prince Charles himself was accustomed to reserving a suite at the Walserhof Hotel.

St. Moritz, Switzerland
One of the most glamorous ski resorts in terms of one’s ability to flaunt their furs. Many Russian billionaires fly their jets in from Moscow and then travel by limo to St. Moritz.

A popular destination after a long day on the slopes is the Casino St. Moritz as well as the Altitude Bar located in the Kulm Hotel.

Courchevel, France
Arguably one of the most famous resorts in the world because this is the location where Prince William and Kate Middleton were spotted frolicking on a ‘top secret’ skiing holiday. Of course, the chalets are no stranger to their fair share of celebrities. Brigitte Bardot stayed there in the 1960s and David and Victoria Beckham often visit as well.

Chalets in the area can cost as much as 50,000 pounds a night. Luckily, there are many Michelin-starred restaurants in the area. A famous destination is the glamorous piano bar, La Mangeoire.
