Source: Dominica to Expand List of Visa-Free Travel Countries

Dominica has been hard at work expanding the list of countries in which its citizens can travel to without a visa. The Prime Minister has announced that the country is currently undergoing negotiations with the United Arab Emirates, Russia, China and South Africa. The addition of these countries would grow the number of Dominica visa-free travel countries to 119.

We’re expanding the list of countries which we have visa free access to… We are in advanced stages of negotiations with the authority of the UAE; we had been given the approval in principle, which is now with the Ministry of the Interior here. Once it is cleared we will move to sign the agreement.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit

Prime Minister Skerrit also went on to state that Dominica has “gotten approval for Russia” and were simply waiting for the final sign-off from the Russian authorities. As for China and South Africa, they have made applications to those countries. He further explained that it is the bureaucracy in China which has slowed the process down. The application must go through several stages before approval will be given.

Dominica visa-free travel is a significant benefit to those looking at the country’s Citizenship by Investment program. Often programs are evaluated and applied to based solely on the countries in which its citizens can travel visa-free. These four countries are extremely popular destinations and would prove a significant boost to the country’s Citizenship by Investment Program.

Dominican passport holders currently enjoy visa-free travel to 115 countries, including the Schengen countries, the European Union, and CARICOM countries.
