UAE Signs Mutual Travel Agreements as Demand for Visa-Free Travel Grows

The United Arab Emirates is a key economic player in many global markets, thus it isn’t a surprise that it would be in the interest of numerous countries to strengthen their bonds to the country. In line with this thinking, countries in the Caribbean have been working with the UAE as part of the UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund. This has even allowed Grenada and Saint Lucia, both beneficiaries of the fund, to sign visa-free travel waivers with the UAE in recent months.

Visa Free Travel is Only the Beginning

This growth in visa-free travel is part of a much bigger effort by the UAE government to improve the quality of life of its citizens, called UAE Vision 2021. This initiative aims to increase the UAE’s scores in six vital sectors: healthcare, education, economy, environment and infrastructure, society, and security and the judiciary. In addition to visa-free travel to the Caribbean, they have also recently signed visa-free waivers with China and Vanuatu bringing their total number of visa-free countries to 134. Although the UAE passport has year over year been ranked as the strongest in the middle-east, their goal is to be amongst the top five in the world.

Looking Beyond Visa-Free Travel

While one could imagine that the mobility offered by these visa-free waivers would decrease the need for investors to consider Citizenship by Investment Programs (CIP), one must be cognizant of the fact that visa-free travel still comes with a time stamp. Meaning, if one takes Saint Lucia and Vanuatu as examples, it is possible to travel to both places visa-free with a UAE passport, but one can only stay for a maximum of sixty days. This may or may not fit the needs of those travelling for business.

Additionally, mobility is just one of the many advantages when it comes to procuring a second citizenship. CIPs offer investors the opportunity for an increased quality of life; security, in terms of protecting and growing net worth; also, new opportunities when it comes to taxation, retirement and succession planning. From this perspective, those interested in increased mobility should connect with qualified immigration consultants to explore their optimal options. Consultants from Elevay, an international organization with over fifteen years of experience navigating the complex citizenship and residency by investment process, are well-versed when it comes to guiding investors who are interested in finding the perfect Citizenship by Investment Program to suit their individual goals. Those interested in expanding their freedom with CIPs are often highly intelligent investors who recognize the fact that independent research alone won’t lead to the best possible outcome. Online articles may be a great starting point but when it comes to taking action, the best route is to connect with a trusted professional.
